Anastasia Kelly is a co-managing partner of DLA Piper Americas.
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Kelly was an executive officer of American International Group, Inc., serving as executive vice president and general counsel and as vice chairman, positions for which she was responsible for addressing legal, regulatory, corporate governance and risk management issues. Prior to joining American International Group, she was an executive and general counsel of several large, publicly traded companies, including MCI/WorldCom, Sears, Roebuck and Co., and Fannie Mae.
She serves as a director of Owens-Illinois, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of glass containers, and as chair of its risk committee and a member of the governance and nominating committee. She previously served as a director of Saxon Capital.
Kelly also serves on the boards of numerous philanthropic organizations. She is a director of the Cardiovascular Institute at George Washington University Hospital and a member of the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University Law School. She is also past chair of Equal Justice Works and a director of Lawyers for Children America.
Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Trinity University and a juris doctor, magna cum laude, from George Washington University Law School. She is a member of the Texas Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Foundation.
